Making Your Family Records Easier to Use — Recent Updates (October 2026)

At Family Storage, we make small improvements little by little, based on what you tell us. In this column, we introduce our recent updates in one place.

Family Research: apply for several lineages at once

Your father's family and your mother's family. There is often more than one family line you would like to trace.

Until now, you had to apply once for each lineage. You can now apply for up to four lineages at once.

• Enter the surname for each lineage
• The total amount is shown on the application screen

So you can apply without hesitation

• Each plan in the price list now has an "Apply with this plan" button. The application screen opens with that plan already selected.
• Your details are filled in from your earlier applications and your registered information. You can edit anything that is filled in.
• We added an explanation to "Head of the current register". If you do not know it, you can leave it blank and still apply.
• Your application history now shows every lineage you selected.

Family-tree improvements (end of September)

We corrected a number of points around the family tree and family registration.

• If you have completed Family Research, you can now add ancestors from any person
• When you add a family member from "Family Data", you now choose the relationship. Once chosen, the person appears on the family tree straight away
• People without a registered relationship are listed together at the top of "Family Data"
• You can now delete a family member from their own page
• Half-siblings — who share one parent but not the other — had appeared joined by the same horizontal line. Each parent couple now has its own line
• We fixed anniversary reminders that sometimes arrived twice with the same content

As a service that holds your family's precious records, we explain how we protect them on the "Our Commitment to Your Peace of Mind" page.

• Even if you open the site from an unencrypted address (http), you are switched automatically to the encrypted connection
• After several wrong passwords in a row, login becomes unavailable for a while. This makes it harder for third parties to get in by trying again and again

Easier to read in dark mode

We improved how the home page looks in dark mode. Give it a try when your screen feels too bright at night.
