Family Storage Has Been Renewed

Thank you very much for always using Family Storage.

We are pleased to announce that Family Storage has been completely rebuilt and is now available in its new form. We reviewed everything from the ground up, hoping to look after your family's records more reliably and for longer.

You can now draw your family tree with your fingertip

Until now, the family tree screen sometimes kept you waiting a little each time you opened it. The new family tree appears the moment you open it. Zooming in and out and moving cards have also become smoother.

• The same controls on smartphones and tablets — Pinch with two fingers to zoom, and rearrange cards with your fingertip. You can create your family tree even without a computer.
• “Switching the center” — You can place not only yourself but also your mother or grandfather at the center. Your mother's and your wife's lineages can also be extended within the same single chart.
• Switching between “the ○○ family” — Once you register maiden names, you can move back and forth between each family.
• Records of remarriage and former spouses — Former spouses and current spouses can now each be placed in their proper position.

Printing is now truly practical

When a family tree has many members, fitting it onto a single sheet of A4 paper makes the text small. With the new printing, you can choose from three options.

• Fit on one A4 sheet — for small family trees
• Print across several A4 sheets — split at full size, with overlap margins and position marks added
• One large sheet — A3, A2, A1 or A0. It can be saved as a single PDF and sent straight to print

Each person's record now goes deeper

Beyond names and years of birth and death, you can now preserve the story of each person's life.

• Self-introduction (origin of their name, personal motto, favorite words, people they admire, etc.)
• Education, work history and qualifications
• Marriage records (wedding date, wedding venue, how they met)
• Health records — can now be kept for each measurement date, with BMI calculated automatically from height and weight
• Grave (facility name, location, plot, posthumous Buddhist name). A map is also shown based on the location
• Photo gallery — gather photos for each person and share them with your family

Names, addresses and phone numbers are stored encrypted.

We'll remind you of special days so you never forget

Birthdays, death anniversaries and wedding anniversaries are shown automatically from your family's information. There is no need to register them individually.

You can also import them into the calendar app you already use (such as Google Calendar). You can decide for yourself how to receive notifications from the ⚙ on the “Anniversaries & Events” screen.

AI Storyteller — Talks about your family based on your records

We have prepared a “Storyteller” you can ask about your family, based on the family tree and personal records you have registered. It can also read its answers aloud.

This feature does not use any external AI services at all. Everything is processed only on servers managed by our company, so your family's information never leaves our company.

Family line analysis

From the information you have registered, we compile and show trends in your family: the ratio of men to women, blood types, Chinese zodiac signs, star signs and registered domiciles (honseki), as well as the single character most often used in names. You may discover a “tsuji,” a character passed down through the generations.

Place it on your home screen like an app

No download from an app store is needed. Just open Family Storage on your smartphone and add it to your home screen, and you can use it just like an app.

Not a single existing feature has been lost

Family crests, family line history, religious denomination, inviting family members, applying for Family Research — all the features you have been using have been carried over. The records we have been keeping for you can also be viewed as they are on the new screens.
