[Security Notice] We Applied an Important Update to the Software Behind Our Service
This is a notice about the safety of the service, for everyone who uses Family Storage.
What happened
Two serious flaws (vulnerabilities) were found in "PHP," software used by many websites, and fixed versions were released on October 21, 2026.
They are the kind of flaws that, if left unaddressed, could allow someone outside to carry out unauthorized operations.
As of now, there has been no announcement that actual attacks have been officially confirmed.
What Family Storage did
Shortly after the fixed versions were released, in the early hours of October 22, 2026, we updated the software that runs our service.
After the update, we confirmed that the site displays normally. The update was carried out without stopping the service.
What we ask of you
No action is required on your part for this update. You do not need to change your password, either.
As everyday precautions, we ask for the following three things.
- Please do not reuse the same password you use for other services.
- If you use a shared computer or smartphone, please log out after use.
- Please do not open links in emails you do not recognize. We never ask for your password by email.
Going forward
Discoveries of flaws like this are likely to continue. When an important fix is released, we will review it and do our best to apply the update promptly.
If there is anything we should let you know, we will tell you in this column. You can see our overall approach on the Our Commitment to Your Peace of Mind page.
