We will send them within the following periods after confirming your payment.

• Information gathering only — within 60 days
• Information gathering + map creation — within 120 days

The time may vary within these periods depending on the number of lineages and the circumstances of each municipality. We send the Family Map PDF by email and the collected family registers by post.

The fees for family register (koseki) documents are as follows, per copy (as of September 2026; the amounts are the same in almost all municipalities).

• Certified copy of the family register (certificate of all matters): ¥450
• Certified copy of a closed register (joseki) / pre-revision register (kaisei genkoseki): ¥750

If you request them by mail, the issuing fee for fixed-amount postal money orders (¥200 each) and postage both ways are added. The number of documents ranges from a dozen or so to more than thirty depending on the family, and the total generally comes to around ¥10,000 to ¥20,000-something per lineage.

Just sign up (free) and log in. Then, by adding family members starting from yourself, you can begin creating your family tree.

Yes. You can share them using the photo gallery's share link, or with a PDF or printout of the family tree. There are also “Story” and “Community” features for connecting with other members.

Yes. You can do this from the settings on My Page. For how your data is handled when you leave, please see the Terms of Use and the “Personal Information and Security” section.

The information we hold (such as names and registered domicile) is encrypted and stored securely, and is not used for any purpose other than providing the service. Documents entrusted to us for Family Research are handled appropriately once the research is complete, and family registers are returned to you by post.

The AI Storyteller runs not on an external generative AI service, but in an environment managed by our company. Your family's records are never sent outside. Reading aloud is also carried out in our own environment.

Yes. The records and photos you register are your own. Please use the service with peace of mind.

It is a service for reliably preserving and sharing your family's records (family tree, photos, memories and special days). From “Family Research,” which traces the family register (koseki), to creating a family tree, AI storytelling, and managing photos and special days, you can gather your family's story in one place.

Yes. Sign-up is free. Basic use, such as creating a family tree and saving records, is free of charge. Only some services, such as Family Research (family register research), are paid.

Yes. You can use it on a smartphone, tablet or computer. You can also add it to your home screen and use it like an app (PWA). It launches quickly, and you can also receive notices (push notifications).

No. There are no difficult operations. Simply follow the screens and enter names and records.

Your family tree takes shape simply by adding family members, starting from yourself. Additions are always registered as “relationships as seen from you,” and you can zoom and move around with your fingertip. You can share your completed family tree with your family by printing it or saving it as a PDF.

It is a feature in which AI talks about a person based on the family records you have registered. If you ask, “What kind of person was my grandfather?”, it answers within what is in the records. It is designed to be modest: it does not make up things that are not recorded, and instead tells you “That is not in the records.” It can also read aloud, and you can choose a calm voice (Japanese, Korean and English).

Yes. From each card in the family tree, you can open a photo gallery just for that person. With a share link, you can also show photos only to your family and relatives (people who don't know the link cannot browse the list).

Yes. When you register birthdays, death anniversaries, other anniversaries and so on, we will notify you automatically as the day approaches (in-app notices, push notifications and email). You can also sync with Google Calendar and check them in your usual calendar.

Yes. You can print your completed family tree as is, or save it as a PDF to share with your family. It also makes a lovely gift.

It is a research service that traces, one by one, every family register (koseki) that can be obtained, following your family's history back about 150 years, to ancestors five to seven generations ago. It is based not on guesswork or hearsay, but on the reliable records of the family register.

Prices are per lineage (one surname line), tax included.

• Information gathering only: ¥22,000 — We collect the family register documents that can be obtained (certified copies of the family register, closed registers (joseki) and pre-revision registers (kaisei genkoseki)) and hand them to you as they are.
• Information gathering + map creation: ¥55,000 — In addition to collecting the family registers, we create an easy-to-read family tree (Family Map) and deliver it as a PDF.

You can also apply for all four lineages.

Yes. We trace back from your current family register, so it is fine even if you have little information on hand. You can apply with whatever you know.

After logging in as a member, please proceed in the following order.

1. Choose the research scope (plan) you would like
2. Choose the lineage(s) to be researched
3. Enter your information
4. Download the letter of authorization, sign it and send it by post
5. Pay the research fee to complete your application

We deliver the records of each of your ancestors (reliable records preserved in the family register, such as names, relationships and registered domicile), along with a PDF of an easy-to-read family tree (Family Map). This applies to the map creation plan. It can also be used as a gift.

All family register documents collected, as well as any unused letters of authorization, will be returned to you by post.

In cases such as when old family registers have been lost, the research may only go as far as can be traced. Even then, we will create your results based on the records we were able to obtain.
